The discussion committee consisted of: 1 Assist. Prof. Dr. Abbas Hussein Meri / Chairman. 2- Assist. Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Kazem Hamza / Member. 3- Lect. Dr. Ahmed Raouf Nasser / Member. 4A. Prof. Dr. Ashwaq Talib Hashem / Member and Supervisor. 5- Lect. Dr. Qusay Fadel Hassan / Member and Supervisor.
Medical images are transferred to other remote locations through the electronic health care system. Protecting medical images is extremely important. Medical images must be protected from any modification that the attacker may make through the insecure channel. It is necessary to check the integrity of the ROI (area of interest) of the received medical image. Before adopting any diagnostic decision to avoid misdiagnosis, the goal of this thesis is to confirm the integrity, reliability and confidentiality of medical images by combining watermark and coding techniques and the proposed strong segmentation method for JPEG compression. Likewise, this method resists many image processing attacks such as filtering, noise addition and some engineering transformations. The experimental results demonstrate the robustness of the watermark against many aggressive and geometric signal processing distortions. The discussion was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies (Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Hassan). On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Amira Kazem Jabbar) and wish her continued success.

Master’s Viva
The master's thesis was presented by a postgraduate student (Areej Manadel Kadhim) in the major of (Computer Engineering) on Monday, 5/3/2021 at Hall No. 9 in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, for her research entitled: (Implementation of Transceiver for Cognitive Radio Based Wireless Network)
The discussion committee consisted of: 1- Assist. Prof. Dr. Azad Rahim Karim / Chairman. 2 Assist. Prof. Dr. Mahmoud Zaki Abdullah / Member. 3- Lect. Dr. Ali Majeed Mahmoud / Member. 4- Assist. Prof. Dr. Ikhlas Kazem Hamza / Member and Supervisor. Wireless communication is witnessing a great development and growth, which raises the level of demand for radio spectrum. Nevertheless, spectrum is a limited resource that cannot be divided indefinitely to meet any application. The scarcity of spectrum arose as this scarcity represented the main problem facing the future of wireless networks. Three phases The OFDM transmitter and receiver system was implemented in the first phase using QPSK modulation technology using Simulink Xilinx / MATLAB. The second phase of the proposal is to discover the design capacity of the OFDM transmitter and receiver. This system was analysed in the XSG framework based on the AWGN channel, in the end another system works on Improving the performance of spectrum sensing based on pd, pf and SNR energy detection. The discussion was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs and Graduate Studies (Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yusuf Hassan), and on this occasion we congratulate the student (Areej Muadid Kadhim) and wish her continued success.

Viva Voice For Master Degree
The master's thesis of the student (Hanan Muhammad Kazem), specializing in (Computer Engineering), was discussed on Sunday January 24, 2021 at the conference room in the Control and Systems Engineering Department, for her research entitled: (Design of Fuzzy Logic Controller as an Active Queue Management for Congestion Avoidance in Internet Routers) The viva committee consisted of: 1- Dr. Hazem Ibrahim Ali (Professor)/ Chairman. 2- Dr. Mona Muhammad Jawad (Assistant Professor)/ member. 3 -Dr. Ammar Abdul-Malik Abdul-Kareem (Assistant Professor)/ member. 4 -Dr. Ahmed Alaa Akla (Assistant Professor)/ member and supervisor. In this thesis, the researcher formulated a complex model for (TCP / AQM) and it was simulated first without a controller. The results indicate that the required queue length cannot be traced. Therefore, IT2FLC was designed to achieve better tracking performance and avoid congestion. In networks, multiple evolutionary optimization algorithms were used to choose the optimal parameters of controllers. The results obtained showed that the AQM-based IT2FLC give more acceptable performance compared to those obtained by IT1FCL IT2FLC succeeded in making the queue size track the required level even with changes in many network parameters. The discussion was attended by the Assistant Head of the Department for Academic Affairs and Postgraduate Studies (Prof. Dr. Muhammad Yusef Hassan). On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Hanan Muhammad Kazim) and we wish her continued success in her career.

A Master Thesis Discussion for the Student (Muhammad Yassin Khudair)
The master's thesis of the student (Muhammad Yassin Khudair), specializing in Control Engineering, was discussed on Thursday 3/12/2020 at the conference room in the Control and Systems Engineering Department, for his research entitled "Intelligent Control Design for Overhead Crane Control". The discussion committee consisted of: 1. Prof. Dr. Hazim Ibrahim Ali / Chairman 2. Asst. Prof. Dr. Osama Ali Awwad / Member 3. Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ibrahim Abdul Darim / Member 4. Prof. Dr. Muhammed Yusuf Hassan / Member and Supervisor 5. Asst. Prof. Dr. Salim Khalifa Kadhum / Member and Supervisor In this thesis, the researcher proposed the design of the back-stepping controller to control the vertical crane system. The controller design was based on the nonlinear mathematical model of the vertical crane system. The purpose of the design of this control unit is to reduce the swing angle as much as possible. Therefore, the bat algorithm was used to find the best values for the controller parameters. In addition, the results of the proposed controller were compared with those of the fuzzy controller and the proposed controller achieved a much lower swing angle. Moreover, the improved back-stepping controller was compared with the traditional back-stepping controller and the results showed that the former outperformed the latter in terms of reducing the swing angle. On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Muhammad Yasin Khudair), and we wish him continued success. |
Master Thesis Discussion (Safa Farhan Fadel)
The master's dissertation of the student (Safa Farhan Fadel) in the field of (Control Engineering) was discussed in the Conference Hall of the Control and Systems Engineering Department on Wednesday 14/10/2020, for her research entitled (Rubust Postprandial Glucose Control for Type 1 Diabetes). The discussion committee consisted of: 1- Prof. Dr. Amjed Jaleel Hamidi / Chairman 2- Asst. Prof. Dr. Thakir Mahmood Naiel / Member 3- Lect. Dr. Taghreed Muhammed Muhammed Ridha / Member 4- Asst. Prof. Dr. Safanah Mudhhir Ra'afet / Member and Supervisor Diabetes mellitus (DM) is an acute metabolic syndrome and it is one of the most dangerous diseases in the world that results either from the body’s inability to produce insulin or the body’s autoimmune response to insulin. The artificial pancreas (AP) is a closed loop automatic device. It contains three components, glucose sensor, control algorithm and insulin infusion system. It ensures control of external insulin injection into the patient's body. A comparison of the two designed controllers is presented as the HLS controller and the HLSP controller to determine the best robust AP system controller. Moreover, a comparison was made with the PID controller and the PIDP controller. It is clear that the results of the HLS controller was better than those of the PID controller in regulating the glucose concentration in blood. The results show many advantages like shorter settling time and rise time compared to the PID controller. In this occasion, we congratulate the student (Safa Farhan Fadel) and wish her all success. |
