Master Thesis Discussion (Rouneq Adnan Mahmoud)

A graduate student in the Control and Systems Engineering Department (Rouneq Adnan Mahmoud) received a master's degree in engineering (Control Engineering) after discussing her thesis entitled "Intelligent Robust Controller Design for Anesthesia Systems)". The discussion took place on Wednesday the 12th of June 2019 on the Discussion Hall number (9) in the department. The examination committee consisted of:

1- Asst. Prof. Dr. Hazem Ibraheem Ali / Chairman

2- Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Khalaf Hamoudi / Member

3- Lect. Dr. Sami Kadhum Hassan / Member

4- Asst. Prof. Dr. Safanah Mudheher Raafat / Member and Supervisor

The main part of anesthesia depends on the method of control of the drug type and the patient's analgesic status by regulating and concealing the hypnotic process which depends on the clinical indicators, such as heart beat rate, blood pressure, and BIS index derived from spectral analysis of the brain's electrical plan. In this work, the jacobian method was proposed to obtain the linear model of the nonlinear model where two robust controllers, namely the loop controller and the fixed loop controller, were designed to control the DOA system. The discussion was attended by the head of the department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem Kareem) and the assistant head of the department for administrative affairs. On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Rouneq Adnan Mahmoud) and wish her all the success.

Master Thesis Discussion (Huda Talib Najim)

A graduate student in the Control and Systems Engineering Department (Huda Talib Najim) received a master's degree in engineering (Mechatronics) after discussing her thesis entitled "Optimal FL Control for 3-RRR Planar Parallel Manipulator". The discussion took place on Tuesday the 28th of May 2019 on the Discussion Hall number (9) in the department. The examination committee consisted of:

1- Asst. Prof. Dr. Firas Abdulrazzaq Raheem / Chairman

2- Asst. Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Qasim Ibrahim / Member

3- Lect. Dr. Bashra Kadhim Oleiwi / Member

4- Asst. Prof. Dr. Amjad Jaleel Humaidi / Member and Supervisor

Parallel robots are characterized by their high performance in terms of accuracy, rigidity, acceleration and their ability to handle heavy loads. Parallel robots were used in many applications for various tasks such as the manufacture of automatic tools, the pointing device for telescopes, the flight simulator and satellite measuring devices. In this research, the intelligent control strategy was applied using the type-1 fuzzy logic (T1FL) controller and the interval type-2 fuzzy logic (IT2FL) controller to control the gripper of the 3-RRR parallel-type robot. A comparison was made between the (T1FL) controller and the (IT2FL) controller in terms of track following and the robustness characteristics of the controllers. The effectiveness of each controllers was assessed based on four paths, namely the circle, square, triangle and infinity. On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Huda Talib Najim) and wish her all the success.

A Workshop on Teaching Portfolio with its Accessories for the Mechatronics Branch

In the presence of the Head of the Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem Kareem) and the Head of the Branch (Asst. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Ibraheem Abdulkareem), a workshop was held in the Internet Unit at the Control and Systems Engineering Department on Wednesday the 22nd of May 2019. In this workshop, various issues were discussed including the teaching portfolios and their completion ratios along with all their accessories of the questionnaires and rubric calculations for student outcomes (a to k). Moreover, the requirements of graduation outputs according to the national engineering standards were addressed in addition to the importance of dealing with students through (Google Classroom) and the importance of activating it by uploading lectures and questionnaires.

A Studying Portfolio Workshop Established by the Control and Systems Engineering Department to the Control Branch

This workshop was established in the Internet Unit on the 21st of May 2019 in the presence of the Head of the Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem Kareem) as well as the Head of the Control branch (Asst. Prof. Dr. Shibly Ahmed). In this workshop, the studying portfolios were discussed and the accomplishment percentage of them, with all of other related reports like questionnaires and rubrics calculations according to the students outcomes (a-k) and graduate outcomes (1-7) depending on the national engineering standards .The workshop also discussed the importance of the (Google Classroom) in posting lectures and questionnaires.
