He graduated from the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, University of Technology (UT), Baghdad, Iraq, in 1997. He obtained the M.Sc. degree in mechatronics engineering from UT in 2000, and the Ph.D. degree in control and automation from the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering, University Putra Malaysia, Malaysia, in 2010. Currently he is a Professor at the Control and Systems Engineering Department, UOT. His current research interests include robust control, computer network control, intelligent control, optimization techniques, and swarm intelligence. He is a member of the IEEE and IAENG.
