The Division of Psychological Counseling and Educational Guidance

in the Control and Systems Engineering Department held

a workshop entitled (Reducing Drug Abuse among Youth) on Monday,

11/12/2023, to raise awareness among community members.

Lect. Dr. Aliaa Abul Redha Abbas delivered a speech,

which involved an introduction to the phenomenon and touched

on the most important social and psychological factors and the reasons

that led to drug abuse. In addition, the effects resulting from drug

abuse were highlighted and their causes were explained,

including the bad companions that young people resort

to after being exposed to family problems, psychological and social pressures,

and reasons related to the environmental factors.

The workshop also delved into potential solutions to reduce

the prevalence of this phenomenon, focusing on early detection

and strategies for mitigating its adverse impacts on society.
