The Control and Systems Engineering Department Holds a Scientific Workshop Entitled (Sustainable Technologies for Smart Cities)

    A scientific workshop was held in the Control and Systems Engineering Department, in cooperation with the Electrical Engineering Department, on Tuesday, 1/30/2024, at the conference hall. The workshop was entitled: (Sustainable Technologies for Smart Cities) Dr. Nagham Saeed from the University of West London, United Kingdom was the guest speaker. She gave a lecture that addressed the most important sustainable technological trends in smart cities that rely on information and communications technology. The applications included enhancing energy efficiency, waste management, improving housing and health care, improving traffic flow and safety, and detecting air quality and improving water and sanitation networks. There were scientific discussions about the possibility of conducting joint studies and research, in addition to the possibility of joint supervision of graduate students. The workshop was attended by the Head of the Control and Systems Engineering Department (Prof. Dr. Azad Raheem), the Head of the Electrical Engineering Department (Asst. Prof. Dr. Jabbar Khalaf), the Assistant Head of the Control and Systems Engineering Department for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Studies (Prof. Dr. Abbas Hussein Issa), the assistants and heads of branches, in addition to a large group of professors and researchers interested in the topic of sustainability and smart cities.
