Discussion of a Thesis for a Master’s Degree (Israa Abbas Jabr)

On Monday, the 16th of December 2019, a discussion of a master's degree thesis was made for the student (Israa Abbas Jabr), who is specialized in Mechatronics Engineering at the Control and Systems Engineering Department. The discussion was made in the Discussion Hall no. 9. The title of the thesis was "Neural Predictive Voltage –Tracking Controller Design for a Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell". The discussion committee consisted of:

1- Asst. Prof. Dr. Firas Abdul-Rasaq Raheem. (Chairman)

2- Asst. Prof. Dr. Dhiaa Jasim Kadhum. (Member)

3- Asst. Prof. Dr. Omar Farouq Lutfy. (Member)

4- Prof. Dr. Ahmed Sabah Abdul-Ameer. (Member and supervisor)

5- Asst. Prof. Dr. Haider Abed Dhahad. (Member and supervisor)

In this work, the researcher suggested the development of a new algorithm to control the predictive voltage tracking of the Proton Exchange Membrane Fuel Cell Model (PEMFCs) using the neural network technology based on an on-line auto-tuning intelligent algorithm. The objective of the proposed nonlinear and robust feedback controller is to find the optimal partial hydrogen pressure to control the output voltage of the model. In this occasion, we congratulate the student Israa and wish her all the success.
