Childhood Investment Forum held in the University of Technology

On Monday 6/9/2021, The University of Technology hosted a children’s festival in cooperation amongst the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, the Training & Factories Centre, and the Iraqi volunteer team “Iraqiya Here”. The festival was meant for the children of needy families and orphans in the Iraqi Child Orphanage and came under the patronage and presence of the President of the University, Prof Ahmed Al-Ghabban. the festival is among the humanitarian activities for the service of our dear community and it included various segments, such as a visit to the university workshops, laboratories, and the robotics research unit in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering to get acquainted with the scientific activities of the university and its students. The festival also included scientific and entertainment competitions, targeted video shows, gifts and lunch. the University of Technology is keen to be close to all segments of society and provide a humanitarian service to them in addition to the scientific service it provides, and this festival is not the first, as it was preceded by many activities in previous years targeting orphaned and destitute children and children with cancer, as well as gifted children to achieve a goal which is to draw the attention of school students and children to university and university life so that their goal is to enroll to gain knowledge, serve their country, and not think about leaving school seats, because this is a great loss for our dear society. The university wishes all the sons of Iraq success and excellence in their studies and their lives.

A Masters’ Viva

A Masters’ Viva

on Sunday, 22/8/2021, at Hall No. 9 in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering, the master's thesis of student (Ali Hassan Mahmoud) with a major in (Control Engineering) was discussed. It was entitled:

(Optimal Multi –objective H-Infinity Model Reference Controller Design)

The discussion committee consisted of:

1- Prof. Dr. Shibli Ahmed Hamid / Head.

2- Assist. Prof. Dr. Omar Walid Abdel Wahab / Member.

3- Assist. Prof. Dr. Saffana Mudhir Raafat / Member.

4- Prof. Dr. Hazem Ibrahim Ali / member and supervisor.

Control system robustness is a major concern in modern control theory as there is a growing interest in designing robust and efficient control units that provide reliable performance and stability characteristics for closed-loop systems in the face of disturbances. H-Infinity Control theory is a popular and interesting approach in the field of robust control because of its ease of formulation and novelty compared to other robust control methods. In this thesis, three
