The master's thesis of the student Ibtihal Hassan Ibrahim

The master's thesis of the student Ibtihal Hassan Ibrahim, specialized in control engineering, was discussed on Wednesday, April 28, 2022, at Hall 9 in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering. her thesis was entitled: Automatic Design of Quantitative Robust Controller for Ball and Beam System The discussion committee consisted of:

1. Dr. Safana, Mudhir Rafat/ Chairman.

2. Dr. Maher Yahya Salloum/Member.

3. Dr. Shaimaa Mahmoud Mahdi/Member.

4. Dr. Hazem Ibrahim Ali/Member and Supervisor.

The ball and threshold system is a very important system associated with real-world system problems. It is an unstable system used to understand control methods. It is difficult to stabilize this system because of non-linearity and uncertainty. In this work, three powerful controllers, PID, LQR and H, are designed in accordance with the limitations of quantitative feedback theory. (QFT) Quantum Feedback Theory is an engineering methodology used to meet the requirements of the closed loop system with uncertainty in the system with more desirable performance. % Of the desired inputs. The results show that the proposed controllers can meet QFT limitations and achieve the required specifications. Finally, it is clear that approximately 84% improvement has been achieved using the proposed H quantum controller compared to the pre-designed cascade quantum control. The discussion was attended by the Deputy Head of the Department for Scientific Affairs and Postgraduate Affairs Dr. Mohammed Yusuf Hassan. On this occasion, we congratulate the student (Ibtihal Hassan Ibrahim) and wish her continued success and success.

A master's thesis of the graduate student Ru’aa Sabah Hassan

The thesis of the graduate student Ru’aa Sabah Hassan, specialized in Control Engineering, was discussed on Tuesday, 27 April 2022, at Hall 9 in the Department of Control and Systems engineering. The thesis was entitled: (Design of a Multi _Level Space Vector PWM Inverter for Sensorless Control of Synchronous Motor) The discussion committee consisted of:

1_Dr. Abbas Hussein Issa/ Chairman.

2. Dr. Bassem Ghaleb Mjabal/ Member.

3. Dr. Yasser Nabil Ibrahim/ Member.

Synchronized engines with permanent magnets are widely used in the industry because of their excellent efficiency, weight ratio/low power and smooth torque, using guided control technology to control engine speed with regard to the required speed range. Field orientation control strategy is a complex control strategy but gives a smooth response.

A master's thesis of the graduate student Fatima Ibrahim Hussein

A master's thesis of the graduate student Fatima Ibrahim Hussein, specialized in Mechatronics Engineering, was discussed on Thursday, 28/4/2022, at Hall No. 9, in the Department of Control and Systems Engineering. Her research was entitled: Optimal Control of Knee Joint System This discussion committee consisted of:

1- Dr. Mohamed Youssef Hassan / Chairman.

2- Dr. Firas Abdul Razzaq Rahim / Member.

3- Dr. Wajdi Sadiq Abboud / Member.

4- Dr. Safana Mazhar Raafat / member and supervisor.

Rehabilitation of the lower extremities is complex, and many internal and external elements must be taken into account. This thesis proposes to design a robotic rehabilitation robot for the lower extremity of the knee and ankle joint to restore mobility and help patients with spinal cord injury and stroke patients. The user system structure consists of two degrees of freedom. Feedback control on the optimal state of the Linear Quadratic Regulator (LQR) and (Servo-LQR) strategy has been implemented in this work. Nonlinear differential Equations using calculated torque control (CTC) based on a PD controller and PID have been implemented. In general, the determination of the values of control parameters is managed through a trial-and-error approach and is simply a time-consuming process. To avoid the traditional trial and error method, the PSO algorithm has been parameterized controllers to overcome the difficulties of designing controls. This method reduces time required to determine the best parameters. The robustness of the proposed approach with external perturbations and random noise was chosen. It was found by simulation that the PD-CTC controller can provide reliable estimates and control. On this occasion, we congratulate the student and wish her all success.
